The Challenge: Coinbase onramp integration initially exposed appId and address parameters client-side. Security risk exposing credentials. Heavy cdp-sdk library included dependencies for all supported networks unnecessarily bloating bundle.

The Solution: PR #515 - Major refactoring moving credential handling server-side:

  • Created API route generating sessionToken server-side
  • Removed cbpay-js convenience library
  • Built onramp URL manually with secure sessionToken

WharfKit Sealed Messages Library Creation

Context: New sealed-messages library created July 26 extracting encrypted messaging into shared infrastructure.

The Purpose: Enable secure end-to-end encrypted communication between blockchain accounts using existing key infrastructure. Messaging between wallets and dapps, wallet-to-wallet communication, or any scenario requiring encrypted data exchange.

The Technology: Uses Shamir’s secret sharing cryptographic algorithm with WharfKit Antelope public/private key system. Sender encrypts message using their private key, receiver’s public key, and nonce. Receiver decrypts using their private key, sender’s public key, and same nonce. Cryptographically secure approach leveraging existing blockchain key infrastructure.

The Integration: Web Authenticator immediately migrated to use library (PR #81 same day as repository creation). Demonstrates library created to extract functionality from existing implementation. Shared library ensures consistent encryption across ecosystem.

Technical Impact: Establishes encrypted messaging foundation for WharfKit ecosystem. Enables secure communication features across wallets and dapps. PayCash Wallet Plugin Addition

Context: New wallet-plugin-paycash repository created July 13 expanding WharfKit wallet plugin ecosystem.

The Purpose: Enable PayCash wallet users to authenticate with dapps using WharfKit Session Kit. Expands wallet choice supporting PayCash users.

The Limitation: Important notice in README - plugin only supports authentication (login), NOT transaction signing. PayCash wallet doesn’t currently support ESR (EOSIO Signing Request) for transaction signing via QR codes. Plugin can identify users but cannot sign transactions.

The Value Despite Limitation: Authentication-only support still valuable for use cases:
